Error shortly after login: "Could not update BattlEye

Recommended Posts

Hi all. After logging off 3 days ago, I returned to DayZ this afternoon and logged onto a server I had been using without a single problem for the last few weeks or so. Promptly after logging in I got an error message (one of those little olive and tan notices) right in the middle of my screen saying something along the lines of "You have been kicked: Could not update BattlEye".

Is this because of the recently released patch? That was my first assumption. I downloaded the patch, made sure my Dayz and Arma were up to date, and then restarted my computer. I logged onto the same server, and about 10 seconds after logging into the game, got the same message. I tried a different server, spawned on the beach, and got the same message. So right now I have the patch downloaded and good to go, but I'm still getting the game-ending error message about updating BattlEye every time I try to log in upon logging in on any server.

Is there any way that I can update BattlEye separately from my DayZ and my Arma II so that I won't get the could not update message?

Thanks! I'm kinda bummed right now because this previously non-existant error is denying me from a relaxing night of video gaming, and I would very much appreciate your thoughtful responses.

Latest beta is 100544

"BattlEye compatibility: ... SUPPORTED, enjoy ! ...

note: also deployed on STEAM! (inside "test" branch, default beta is 100296)"

It is possible to update manually (read the instructions) http://www.battleye.com/download.html

I solve this problem by joining a good ping low player count server, it works 9/10.

Thanks! I'll be sure to update it manually to be sure. I'm very confident that doing that, and setting my ping upper limit to something more manageable (my upper limit is at 160 right now) will solve the problem

Cheers
