Characters.pbo not accepted?

Before you all go assuming I did not install and run ARMA 2 and ARMA 2:OA first, I did. I have always used DayZ Commander to install DayZ along with the beta but when I just tried to do a fresh install of everything, I get this error message when trying to join a server:

Files "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma2\addons\characters.pbo" are not signed by a key accepted by this sever. To play on this server, remove listed files or install addition accepted keys.

And yes, I am trying to join an Official Server, not a private hive. I have done about an hours worth of googling and forum searching for this problem and I came up with nothing. This truly doesn't make any sense in my mind, since I have done this same exact process on my Laptop with no problems.

Anyone have any ideas?

if you delete the affected file then run steam in admin (right click and run as administrator) validate the cache of arma 2 and let it redownload the file and then run it to the main menu and see if that works usually these errors come up because of a corrupted file

That seem to have done it. Thanks for the help, I was a little cautious by deleting that file but everything ended well.

yeah with steam games it dont matter if you remove a file if you start in admin and validate the files it will always get the file back :)
