Why are hacks like this in the game?

Recommended Posts

Been going into several servers, playing a bit, yet I always manage to fall victim along with everyone else on the server by some hacker who instantly kills someone, Yesterday everytime they killed us it was the sound of a helicopter crash and you blew up, just now I ran into one who broke your legs and you fall over dead .. probably something to do with falling

i am just ranting off a bit and pissed off that I lose all of my shit not by a player who killed me, but a hacker who kills everyone on the server, I seriously do not understand why such extreme hacks are even on this game, I love this game, but when situations like this happen I ask myself .. why bother

Don't bother then, this is an alpha mod running of off Arma II. Part of Arma II was to make it easy to run scripts which makes it easy for script kiddies to get into DayZ.

Edit: Wait for the SA to be released if it's such a huge issue to you, not meaning to be offensive just a tip. :)

There are many threads about the hacking scripting problem in DayZ. If you clicked a section of the forum at random you probably could've found something relating to it. You did not need to start a new thread so you could vent your complaints.

Try to find a good private hive and stick to it, they seem to be less prone to hacks...note i said LESS prone...

Because Rocket used the ArmA engine. The ArmA engine offers complex mechanics, large open worlds and are very friendly to user content, unfortunately this also makes it very vulnerable to malicious scripts. ArmA's primary selling point is it's user created content, but since ArmA servers are usually run by mature tight knit communities with active admins and often password protected, hacking isn't as much a problem in ArmA. Because DayZ went viral on youtube and twitch, it also appeals to another audience. What kind of audience you ask, read youtube comments I say.

The standalone wont have to be wide open to user content, so the consensus is that hacking will be less rampant and less overpowered. However it is, people will probably use the same solutions as the mod uses, private whitelisted hives.
