Customs Skins Dayz

Recommended Posts

Hey!

Im new to DayZ and watched some youtube videos earlier today and i saw that they looked very different from me.

I googled it and found out that it was something called "skins" or "customs skins".

Soo my question is, is this still possible and is it against any of the rules?

Thanks in advance, Hugo.

I'm pretty sure it's classed as hacking, not 100% but it even sounds hacky.

Perhaps you're talking about the "face.jpeg" function? At least you should be ;)

Additionally, you can add camo painting to the default faces by adding the corresponding class to your player profile file.

If it's the whole skin, and they aren't running a different mod, then they are hackers.

Yeah if he does, he shouldn't talk about it and won't get any response.

Just to throw some more info in: there are also the normal Bandit, Hero, Survivor, Ghillie and Camo skins.

The previous posts are just plain wrong.

There are private hive servers which have edited the DayZ code to allow Arma2 skins to be unlocked and utilised.

You won't be able to do this on public servers as they have to run the official releases.

As the above post says.

If you look at the Origins mod within a mod, they have a level up system which uses the ARMA 2 skins that you wouldn't find in Vanilla DayZ.
