MajorAhlberg 1 Posted January 15, 2013 Hey!Im new to DayZ and watched some youtube videos earlier today and i saw that they looked very different from me.I googled it and found out that it was something called "skins" or "customs skins".Soo my question is, is this still possible and is it against any of the rules? Thanks in advance, Hugo. Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 15, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's classed as hacking, not 100% but it even sounds hacky.
purepassion 383 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Perhaps you're talking about the "face.jpeg" function? At least you should be ;)Additionally, you can add camo painting to the default faces by adding the corresponding class to your player profile file. Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 15, 2013 I think he means the entire skin, not just face.
beastoverlord 574 Posted January 15, 2013 If it's the whole skin, and they aren't running a different mod, then they are hackers.
purepassion 383 Posted January 15, 2013 Yeah if he does, he shouldn't talk about it and won't get any response.Just to throw some more info in: there are also the normal Bandit, Hero, Survivor, Ghillie and Camo skins.
C h r i s 28 Posted March 7, 2013 The previous posts are just plain wrong. There are private hive servers which have edited the DayZ code to allow Arma2 skins to be unlocked and utilised. You won't be able to do this on public servers as they have to run the official releases. Zypha 7 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) As the above post says.If you look at the Origins mod within a mod, they have a level up system which uses the ARMA 2 skins that you wouldn't find in Vanilla DayZ. Edited March 7, 2013 by Zypha
