Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) It's painful to watch TBH. Even after reading Rockets posts on the subject, people are still having panic attacks about it being ported to XBOX. It won't affect the PC version in any way whatsoever apart from giving the guys more money to plow back into development to give us a better game. I bet the Arma snobs over at the BIS forum are raging hard about it as we speak. Edited January 15, 2013 by Fraggle

Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 15, 2013 I understand the paranoia too. I think if there's one developer we can trust not to sell out though it's BIS and if there's one project lead we can trust not to sell his soul it's Rocket. Both of their track records show we have nothing at all to worry about.

mzltv 2281 Posted January 15, 2013 I bet most of you are like ' OMG XBOX 360 NOOO , IM A PC NERD ' GAHHH TROLL MODE ACTIVATED.Yes, and here is why:I have a lot of doubt that the current generation of consoles will be able to run it. This will either result in waiting for the next generation of consoles to come out, and a whole load of optimization efforts to follow (would that detract from the time that could be spent on additional SA development?).The alternative being dumbing down the game, and releasing something onto consoles that flys the same flag, but isn't the same game we all rate. It's not about being fanboy or activation of troll modes (don't even know what you're getting at with that...)It's about the community wanting the game to be kept as fantastic as it is, and expressing their worries of a port to consoles.
AllMightyKnox 218 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Why worry? That just goes to show how many people really support the game. If you support the game & the people that created you would be more then happy for them to released it on consoles. Playstation or Xbox or any other system would mean more money for the creators and DayZ can expand. If you are a PC player stfu and don't worry about it. Like i mentioned on my video, I don't own an xbox but i would be happy to see the game blow up into other gaming devices besides PC.Edit.Also don't think just because it hits 1 million sales, the Xbox version come out the next day. Let's take a looK at Minecraft for example, The game was PC only then it blew up, everyone and there mommas was playing Minecraft. It went pretty much viral to the point they were able to release it on xbox 360. If you don't know it sold over As of December 13, 2012, the game has sold over 8.3 million copies on PC and over 17.5 million copies across all platforms.I'm happy for notch for making this successful. If Rocket ever decides to throw it out on the xbox ill be more then happy to support him, If 1 million copies on PC are sold i'm sure he would have a different team taking care of the xbox players. IMO. GOOOOOOO ROCKET!!! Edited January 15, 2013 by kn0x187YT
DMC14 46 Posted January 15, 2013 well i guess the only answer for everyone that doesnt want it released on a console is to not buy it on pc.

mzltv 2281 Posted January 15, 2013 Why worry? Because of the point I made of there being a danger of dumbing down the game if there's a port to the console. It'd be an absolute crying shame if DayZ was a long-term success, and it was suddenly brought down a few notches just to allow more sales on an alternative console; and personally, I can't see any way they'd be able to port it without some form of dumb down. AllMightyKnox 218 Posted January 15, 2013 I'm using Minecraft as an Example, They have different teams working on the PC & XBOX version of the game. Also not to mention that Rocket won't release it on Xbox in 1 year (I'm sure of it) Specially w/ the new xbox console coming out soon. It would take a while for them to release it on console, by the time they release some info on them wanting to put it on console i'm sure you'll prob be playing another game or something. The SA will be way more into the game, you will prob not even care if they release it later on for console. btw. Admin Lock this thread.
DMC14 46 Posted January 15, 2013 they have repeatedly said it wouldn't affect the pc version if it ever happened. and i dont know why they would dumb down the pc version if it was released on console a year or years later.Unless your worried about the console version being dumbed down and then why would u care as from your comments you wouldn't buy it anyway.
