Which, if any are best for a survivor/scavenger playstyle? I really like, and am used to Chernarus. How's DayZ+ and DayZ 2017? Any recommendations would be great! It's miles bigger than Chernarus (and any other map), there are more lootable buildings, more different types of buildings and each city is decent to loot and survive. There is also loads of wilderness too, including massive mountains/volcanoes!Check it out.Totally agree.Pretty much every town is useful in its own way.The amount of new and epic buildings is also amazing ( the mall, actual schools, the hospital with dead bodies, museum and quite a lot more)It is a great map. Even the landscape is pretty amazing.I am actually disappointed its in chernarus again, i tried to play chernarus the past few days, just find it so bad ( yes bad, as in not well designed, boring, empty etc)Really hope SA had a very new chernarus. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Dortmunder (DayZ) 19 Posted January 15, 2013 I really like 2017. The hard to find loot and food etc.It would be cool to have the 2017 mod on other maps as well, which I'm sure it will be eventually. Fajeth 32 Posted January 15, 2013 Hardest survival map is Namalsk.DayZ+ plays good, but sometimes I miss the fear to be sniped by a .50 bullet.DayZ2017 ... I don't like the strange loottable. Gutting Zs and survivors is ok but I don't believe we run out of AKs or ammo for them ever, while having lots of 1866 Winchesters and Lee Enfields with nearly unlimited ammo to loot. boxman80 964 Posted January 15, 2013 Glad to hear you're all enjoying taviana, check out our server that runs it, it's got a 400 vehicle limit, free to engage anyone including our members without being kicked/banned/punished, we have lots of active admins, a good mix of day and night action (server clock adjusted regularly between GMT-6, GMT-3, GMT+2 (Weekly changes) and so much more! de4dcert 246 Posted January 15, 2013 I think Namalsk is harder to survive than the other maps but it has you would say some unnatural add ons like the blast and bloodsucker zombies, the natural enemy is the cold as keeping warm is reliant on heat packs or a rare warm clothing find. Taviana is huge but weapons are a plenty if you know where to look. Some of the towns are RDM but I would say out of all the maps Taviana is what I consider the most fun to play. I only really say that because even though Chernarus is still my home for DayZ I want it to be more of a suprise when I play the standalone. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WalkerDown (DayZ) 296 Posted January 15, 2013 Namalsk is fully PVP .. it's too small to think to be payed to "survive the nature"... you simply do not have time to care about food or zeds, coz you'll be engaged into a firefight every 5 minutes, there's also no space to setup a base or whatever.Atm the only maps that can be played as the "original concept" are: Chernarus and Taviana ... especially Taviana, coz after a while you figure that even Chernarus is too small for 50+ ppl.
