AfterShave 140 Posted January 10, 2013 I logged in today and found my map bugged, that blue circle is nowhere to be found. WTF?
Imafighter 236 Posted January 10, 2013 Maybe they changed the server settings. Not all servers have the blue circle enabled. Use the shift+click to figure out how close you are to something.
spacecaps 101 Posted January 10, 2013 Damn... How did we come down to this?!
Dankine 377 Posted January 10, 2013 lol? play on a proper server eh. shouldn't have to rely on map markers.
AfterShave 140 Posted January 10, 2013 I was on a hive server, tried a few and none of them will show me the blue marker. It's all cool tho, I've got a GPS.
twinturbonet (DayZ) 294 Posted January 10, 2013 Yea, some servers don't allow the blue marker. The shift+click is useful.
St. Jimmy 1631 Posted January 10, 2013 Even shift+click is removed in some servers but I believe that most servers have it.

Gillywompis 5 Posted January 10, 2013 I mostly use landscape or features to judge where I am and try to pinpoint myself on the map. I find this to be much more "survivalist" if you will.
Gmanz (DayZ) 13 Posted January 10, 2013 I will always regret discovering the shift-click waypoint's presence on most servers...for months prior to that discovery I navigated by memory (I knew where I was and I knew the rough direction of where I was heading) or with the use of the map and the identification of land marks. There was a sense of achievement and satisfaction when you took a rough bearing from your location, set off for a village some 5km away and with nothing but your sense of direction, manage to hit the village dead on without a map or so much as a compass...screw "steam achievements", they are meaningless; this on the other hand felt genuinely great :)
