Yoda842 0 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) So I recently purchased arma II and have downloaded the dayz mod for it, installation and everything else was fine but when I joined a server I found that I had a huge amount of lag the game was completely unplayable, I tried going onto different servers but it was the same problem so I figured it was something to do with my pc It is a hp a6550a Processor: intel® core duo CPU. E7200 2.53GHzAnd the graphics chip was pre installed I think but is a NVIDIA GeForce 9300GE. Also I have 3gbs of ram.I was just wondering wether it was the pc, the graphics chip or something else that is making it so laggy, this also happens on other demanding games such as skyrimThanks :) Edited January 9, 2013 by Yoda842
Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted January 9, 2013 Your processor and RAM are horrible.I'd suggest upgrading to a new PC. Not just for DayZ, but for gaming in general.

Buy a new graphics chip or something?Pretty much what Enforzed said.A graphics card isn't your main priority, but your processor(CPU) and RAM.Me, I had a custom-built computer specificly for gaming in general. It has an i5-3570k processor, 8GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 670.It runs DayZ smooth as a newborn baby's butt. Not that I'd know how smooth something like that is.
Yoda842 0 Posted January 9, 2013 I don't know much about computer parts so I couldn't build one but is there any good priced gaming pc's that you would recommend?

Yoda842 0 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) I managed to get it working, I still have a fair bit of lag, especially in cities, and I'm gonna find out if its the CPU or GPU that is ruining the fps. Edited January 10, 2013 by Yoda842
Yoda842 0 Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) And I did some/hours of research and found out that its mainly cpu and gpu that help run games faster. ram helps, just not as much. also my computer can only hold 4gb of ram.
