screen goes black while playing

I'm a noob to computer games been playing. Dayz as my first pc game. Been playing for a couple months now but all of a sudden I play the game and my screen goes black I hear the game for about ten seconds or so then my monitor goes to sleep now I don't habe a screensaver active. Switched my powersave features I don't knoe what else to do some days its fine then some days 5 min into game it happens sorry if this is not the place to put this thread but ne suggestions?

If you're using a laptop it could be overheating. You should run virus and malware programs to take a check. Also, clean up unused programs and try to rinse it a bit.

Do you have a 200 series Nvidia card by chance? That's a fairly common problem with them. I call it the black screen of death! If not, then I suggest you check your Windows Event Viewer and see if there are any flat out errors in the logs there.

clean out your pc,. it could be over heating. Also update your graphics drivers

i dont know if this gonna help you but i had the same problem and i have 480GTX , 12GB Ram , i7950

the thing that seem to solve it was acctually to go on steam and play a game for like 10 minutes or so and then everything is working , farnkly i really dont know what is worng.
