Bad serial number in setup

Hi, I just downloaded Arma 2 and the Dayz mod. As soon as I select a server and press play the game comes up with a message saying Bad serial number in Setup. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated, thanks.

there is a sticky devoted to this error.... have you ran each game to the menus with steam ran as admin

You need to run both ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead as an admin. Waiting until the main menu loads up will suffice and you can exit the game.

Can't do this because steam thinks I need to re download the whole of operation arrowhead, admin and checking cache is not working, it was working an hour ago and after trying to update battle eye it wont even load in now. Also battle eye wont initialize. Nearly lost patience with the mod :(
