DayZ Standalone Game?

I know the game will eventually be standalone (similar to minecraft) but i was wondering if there is any kind of information/dates that has been release. I don't have ARMA 2 and i really don't want to buy it unless the standalone is released a LONG time away....

The games in alpha so it will be a very long time until its fully released

Might as well buy it, Arma 2 is fun and there are great mods and communities for it. If you're buying Arma 2 just for this mod, and don't want it otherwise, then you probably aren't going to like the Day Z mod.
