What sever do you play on? I started off on UK#10 on my own, still on it. I'd suggest you start off alone, get some experience then look for a team, there's more chance people will want to team up with you if you have experience. I personally found myself a home server and collected a lot of stuff alone then came to the forums and now I have friends but I don't know.
