Guest Posted January 3, 2013 Hello, How are things?I have just finished my latest build. However I am contemplating whether should get the mod now or wait. I have the funds but don't want to have bought the game tonight only for the standalone to have an announced date tommorow.Is it worth downloading the game now or waiting?Also on a side note how big are the files to download? Acix 132 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) if your interwebs are so bad that you cannot download Arma in under 10 hours your connection the DayZ mod servers and Arma servers is gonna be terribad, suggest getting real internet before trying to play. A2 has some amazing game modes/mods/tweaks/plugins/replayability. I paid $30 Steam to get A2(for DayZ) but found Insurgency, and Domination modes. So much fun.If you want DayZ standaloneor Arma3...then wait. If you want to have fun with some cool shit(thats relatively cheap lately) get A2:CO and just have some fun.For te record I personally plan on getting DZ:SA and A3. Its pretty damn cheap at the moment and you will still have at least a few weeks to get used to the engine and the feel of the game.ArmA also provides a lot more to the player than just DayZ. The single player is awesome and there are a lot of great mods out there, one other very popular one at the moment is Wasteland. Play that for a while and you'll get a great understanding of the game mechanics and learn a few flanking tactics etc that can be of use in DayZ. (no real release date announced other than somewhere in 2013)The stand alone may not be far away but the stand alone will not let you play with ArmA and whenever you get bored with DayZ you should give ArmA a go and even try the ACE and ACRE mods with some people.EDIT:Forgot to mention that BIS really do deserve all the money they can get as well. If it wasn't for BIS we would not have OFP, ArmA, ArmA 2 and the upcoming ArmA 3 to save us from all the arcade games that everyone else makes. Not to mention we would not have DayZ!
