I cant run ArmA II Combined Operations or Dayz

I just bought ArmA II Combined Operations and downloaded Playwithsix to play Dayz but now when I try run the ArmA II Combined operations this pops up http://prntscr.com/nys8q . What does that mean and how do I fix? Also I get Bad serial number And I have never played any ArmA II OA because it wont allow me any suggestions?

Wth is playwithsix?

If you want to use a 3rd party program to run Arma2 mods, especially DayZ. I recommend getting the ones these people fro the forum us. DayZ Commander or 6 Launcher.

How do you buy it? BIS store? or Steam?

I Bought it off steam and playwithsix was recomended by my friend he plays Dayz but never had this problem I have no idea how to get ArmAII working i havent got any game time once I got the game it never worked Ive tryed so many methods of youtube to get it working but it doesent work it also pops up with bad serial code given on setup.

well, idk. Im guessing youve done this, but a second recommendation wont hurt.

Remove Arma2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Install Arma2 only. Play it for at least one mission :D

Install Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. Play for at least 1 mission.

Then try running Combined Operations.

If none of that works, then id recommend something else, but Im not at my computer to point it out.Id also recommend DayZCommander or 6Launcher over that thing. Looked it up, looks ugly and not well made imo.

close steam

start steam in admin (right click and run as administrator)

right click on arma2 and properties then local files

click on verify integrity of game cache <-- do it twice

and do the same for arma2 oa

run arma2 to the menu

run arma2 oa to the menu

click in expansions

make sure the following are enabled

arma2

arma2 oa

arma2 baf lite

arma2 pmc lite

if not enable them and restart then exit the game

Ive done that method 1-3 times but I can even get ArmA II working when I use the method. Do you think its to do with playwithsix?

your reg cleaer has removed entries to steam url Protocol that is what that image is telling you. i dont know how to get arma working without you giving me more information like what arma says when it doesnt work

It says Bad Serial code given on setup but I have used so many methods to try but it doesent work

yeah something is stopping the serial being wrote to the registry if you have started steam in admin and launched the game and its still saying that

put it this way your registry entries for steam are gone and your serial for arma gone from the registry both issues with your registry either something is blocking you from writing to the registry what it deems useless keys or your reg cleaner is deleting them before the game is launched have you checked to see if the keys are located in there

edit have you reran steam as admin and launched the games to the menu since you verified the game cache when you check the files it deletes the keys from the reg again

press the windows key + r and type in "regedit" then look for "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA" and right click the arma 2 oa folder and click permissions and make sure you have full control of the folder so steam can write your cd key to it.
