How do i load beta using steam?

So steam users, ever since the beta was set to required for DayZ have a big problem: Steam won't allow you to load the beta with combined operations...

So I've read the instruction stickys and we're seeing a flood of people looking for assistance and none finding anything straight forward. Is there anyone here who has successfully installed and launched the beta using steam? If you have, could you please provide a walkthrough for the rest of us to follow? we would love to keep playing DayZ: but we'll need some assistance to make that happen!!

Try that and see.

If not, download the Arma2 launcher and create a shortcut, much simpler.

Yo could use Worrom's Day Z Mod updater to launch it.

You read the readme.txt that comes with the beta patch. And do what it says...only the path will be slightly different to account for it being in a Steam sub folder

These are my launch options under Steam:

-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@dayz -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd

I hope they are helpful. Make sure that you also launch the game as ARMA 2: Combined Operations.
