Zombies or Infected?

Recommended Posts

Are we suppose to be fighting zombies or infected? These things run faster then when they were human, or is every one in Russia track stars?

28 * Later : Super fast, infected with rage.

Every other zombie flick: Slow, dumb.

I think a nice mix would be if they didn't sprint as fast as you. Maybe slow enough you can lose them in the woods, but if your in the city they could stick.

Funny sidenote: When going back to play OA, the skins remain zombies :)

Never seen Rocket use the word Zombie.

Read notes on 1.7.1, it says "infected", which would give me the idea that its 28 days later type of "zeds"

The HUD in-game refers to the killing of 'them' as 'Zombies killed', So I'm assuming that they're zombies. Something that you're also not realising is 'Zombie' is just a commonly used nickname for the 'infected'

If my memory serves me right, Rocket said that we are up against "infected" rather than undead.

tomato - tomato...

In this case there is a difference.

Basically these are infected. They have a virus (alla 28 days later) that makes them brain dead and they crave human flesh. They never died and came back to life, and you wont see them running around with half of their bodies missing because they have the same human body we do.

Zombies on the other hand have already died, and the rose from their eternal slumber. Zombies will come at you with half its body missing, because zombie don't give a shit.

They are infected human beings, the maker of the game has stated this and refers to them in changelogs as Infected. He stated in interviews that he finds 28 Days Later types more frightening.

They're called Zombies in game...I don't know why. I think it should be changed.

It's not tomato tomato. Undead and Infected are quite different. One is supernatural, one is scientific. I personally find the undead more frightening because you're dealing with things out of our control. But that is what I think people find more frightening about disease-related zombie horror- the fact that it is based on real-world possibility and that we may in fact cause it.

I found this pretty hilarious, I gotta say.

It doesn't matter what you call them. The only good Zed is a dead Zed.

I do think this discussion is grand. I haven't read the change logs, but did notice Zombies killed. I think both are equally scary in their own right. Watching a movie I find zombies more scary, but playing the game the infected scare me more.

It is one big game of tag. I always imagine them yelling "I'm gunna get you!". But when they do get me, I don't get the chance to tag them back.

Z for Zero ?

day Zero as in the first day

like in year zero when a new calender starts or a major events takes place and you start from that point on with counting the days ?

Zombies are reanimated corpses. Whether they are fast or slow or dumb or smart or whatever. A reanimated corpse is a zombie.

This game has people who are infected, like in 28 Days Later.

The name should be changed, yeah, but whatchyagonnado?
