Para-scopes (Alt. to 3rd person)

Recommended Posts

What would ya'll think if para-scopes where in the game.

They are easy to make and it would be an easy alt. to 3rd person.

aye!?

I think it would have to be destroyable if it got shot, and flicker the light if it's facing the sun or any other light source

I would find this entertaining. It's a cool idea but I doubt many people would use them.

i feel the same way about it, idk how i feel about it but i wanted to post it anyway.

The reason I came up with it is cause I was watching a Devil Dog Gamer's video, and he's using 3rd to peep over hills..

As you can see at 13:00.

Strongly against 3rd, but I understand the appeal of looking over something without sticking your neck out. A para-scope could be perfect item to bridge the two.

I have suggested before that players could have the ability to loot or craft a "mirror on a stick" that they could use to see around corners, over obstacles and possibly under doors. The mirror would hopefully provide a picture of what is out there but possibly have a skewed perspective due to the type of mirror. A flat mirror will show a small area whereas a convex one will show a wider area but make judging distance between things harder "Objects may be closer than they appear" style.

Arma 3 supposedly has the capability to do picture in picture quite well, why not use the technology for tactical mirrors?

Really like the idea of bluring the picture or distorting. 'para scopes' in anyway should be really crappy ;)

I think tactical mirrors would be a wonderful fix to third person and it adds more immersion to game play

I use third person cause I like seeing my character. Not peeping over hills

I use it for the same reason and maybe like a peaking option? Where you peak just the tip of your head out so you can see around your cover

The idea was just a concept I wanted to see how the community reacted too.. I'd rather have DayZ SA too though ;)

anyway I hate that 3rd person breaks immersion. I'd rather feel more attached to the character then let cosmetics tickle my pickle.

I feel being detached to the players character is a huge fault in the game. Why people so casually 'respawn' and all that other crap..

Also I think if people had the ability to use a para-scope, then they would use it same way people use 3rd to sneak a peek.
