Broken Operation Arrowhead Disk (workaround?)

Hey,

long story short, I broke my Operation Arrowhead CD, but my normal Arma II CD is working flawless.

Now, I tried to aquire Operation Arrowhead from the Internet (I think everybody can guess the rest)

I installed it, and it works, but it isn´t asking for my Serial Number (No cracks etc. applied, just regular installation)

So now it´s giving me the Bad CD key message when I try to update the game

Is there any way to force Arma II: OA to recognize my Serial Number, or do I have to buy OA again?

maybe you can activate that cd key on steam and download the game trough steam?

how did you insert the key into your registry

I´m not sure what I should answer.

For Arma 2 I entered the Serial Key at the beginning of the installation

For OA at the first launch after the installation I had to put the original CD in, and it accepted it

(The disk is not completely broken, the installation just stops at a certain point and doesn´t continue because of some nasty scratches)

So can I manually enter the key in the registry?

I tried the steam activation, and it´s not working. Retail Arma is not supported in Steam

you can enter it manually if you know the binary form of your cd key

so if you have a pc you already installed it to export the reg file and copy it to your new pc if the reg paths are the same

you can try deleting the cd key and starting the game with your disk in admin mode and it may reinsert the cd key from your copy into the registry.
