Very confused about logging out

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, new DayZ player here. My friend and I just started yesterday and have actually managed to make great success. However, whenever we log out and log back in, all of our items have been reset. This is massively frustrating, since we had just managed to to find great weapons, food, and drink.

To log out we abort the mission, then disconnect, then close the whole client. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Nah your logging out fine. You were prob playing on a private hive and you have logged back into a different server. How are you browsing for servers?

Are you rejoining same server as there r private hives, is your location changing or are you in same place as log out.

We went back to the same exact server after though. And I don't think it was a private hive, it doesn't say that in the server description. (US 3484? I don't know what 3DP:1 means though)

It also happened when he disconnected and re-connected.

It is the same spot as when we logged out, with our characters in the same exact condition.

I'm using Play WithSix

Probably a saving bug, try to loot like an empty tin can, and check if your inventory is back to normal(Could be a visual bug), but if it isnt, then log out and try logging in again if there is a tin can in your inventory.

It also reset my backpack to a coyote instead of the alice I had. When I picked up a hatchet, nothing changed. Besides me getting the hatchet.

Def sounds like a server bug then. Then only other thing I can think if is that if you log out real quick after getting some items the server hasn't had time to register your items and put them in the database. I can't remember off the top of my head what the interval is for your char being saved.

So, basically, time to find a new server?

It'd have to be more than a 3 hour interval, which I doubt. Thanks for the help guys.

I think most servers kick up this kind of error every so often :(

Bah. That's a shame. Guess I'll just have to fisticuffs the zombies.

If only we could punch them. Man I would be in my element.

I'd only use my fists. Manmode to the extreme.

This can also happen if you join servers that use a different OA beta patch than the one you have installed, I would recommend using "DayZCommander" to search and join your server's. You can filter out servers that aren't compatible, keep up-to-date with beta patch releases and more. It's generally considered to be a better alternative and will probably sort out your problems ;-)
