Cannot get it installed

The install link on the main page takes me to a page for six installer with nothing but ads. The links posted in the forums for worrom and the armas/dayz mod are both dead. So im really not sure how to get it installed.

Day commander. Install it. Live it. Love it. Seriously. It manages the mod, extra maps and is a damn fine server browser. I'm not on commission I just think its the nuts. Do it!

Do i need anything else to get dayz running?

If you have arma 2 and OA installed, days commander can do the rest. Click on the install/update tab and you can install the latest arma 2 beta patch and dayz client then just pick a server and off you go.

Are there official servers or only privately hosted servers? If there are official servers are the within the dayz commander list and how would i tell?

There are public hive (official) and private hive (unofficial). The private have a cloud symbol with a cross through it. You can filter to only see public or private.
