Problems with joining servers

So I recently bought arma 2 combined operations and decided I would like to play Dayz however I have had some problems getting onto a server. First it says: Addon Dayz_code requires addon Dayz equip. Then it says something about me needing to delete files because the server won't except them?? I am confused and I would appreciate any help.

are you using play with 6 to launch and is it the steam version of the game or retail or gog

I am using steam and I was using 6 but I thought it might be the problem so I switched to DayZ Commander.
