pvp - then change name

Recommended Posts

If someone pvp's in a "no pvp" server and then changes their name, will the server admin still know who they are?

They will still have the same GUID, administrators can check this.

No-PvP servers are retarded anyway. What is the point?

Technically, yes.

The GUID never changes, and is character/player/game-copy specific.

In practice? Probably not.

Most server admins probably don't or can't keep track of everyone's GUIDs.

A server host can, since they have event logs.

Edit;

No-PvP servers are retarded anyway. What is the point?

Now, now. You can't tell if he's planning on doing some PvP on a "non-PvP" server, or hosting one.

A neutral tone is the most valid in this case.

It depends if they were watching the server at the time and what kind of server it is.. I'm guessing cause there is no PvP that it is a PH or maybe Whitelisted? I would check with the admins or the forum team for a quick response, I also suggest playing on real sever that does allow PvP, thus getting the true DayZ experience.

The admin can check the logs after the event to ID the player whatever name he uses in-game.

While we're on the subject, I also happen to think PVE servers suck and remove the whole point of DayZ but oh well, whatever floats your boat.

Hahaha. The ole "to pvp or not to pvp" debate, eh? I like it just as much as the guy and I agree that it's a necessary piece of the DayZ puzzle. But, rules are rules.

I play on a semi pve server, pvp isn't banned except against 3.medics who spend all their time helping others, it seems to be gaining a nice following and encourages a bit more interaction between players while still keeping some fear
