Instanced scenarios.

Scenario one: initial outbreak. Initial game civilian population should start out uninfected. Then each city spawns a zero-case zombie to initiate the out break. All civilian ls panic and random evens like military teams exterminating civilians before being over run. Helicopter evacuating or crashing. Scenario going from serine to chaos to finally devolve into the post outbreak state. Players try to survive the zombies and other players.

Scenario two: search and rescue. Team based open where you father npc survivors and they follow you to extraction point

Instancing areas will just splinter the community and make the game worse.

The whole point in DayZ is that it's one big persistent world.

do you realize how much work has to be done for that? All those animations, behavior scripts and stuff.

The only instance I see is some kind of a tutorial for the beginners - you start at day zero, witness the panic and hell breaking loose and your goal is to escape by performing simple tasks (climbing\picklocking, fighting\sneakink past zombies, fixing car, applying first aid) - this way the player will learn the basics.

or someone could create a new map for stuff like that or a map with 1-5 players where you start in a town before the out break and work together until you escape, then what you do after that is up to you (kill the others, run away, team up, etc.)

The Mod and also the SA are based well after the outbreak.

We have sugested many times a scripted event for when choppers crash, just to keep it fresh so players can't camp the crash sites. and it would be a great addition to see it in game (Like the train just running through the map on fire not stopping)

I've always seen DayZ as an experience and not a story based game. You never know after the SA is released someone may do some additional mod work of it.

After reading comments and putting more thought into it I believe that certain servers could be set up for scenario play while the rest remain as they are.
