What is a good goal to set for oneself when starting the game

I am curious to know what kind of missions or goals everyone else sets out once they start a new game and what kind of recommendations they would make to a slightly younger Bambi here. I do understand that most of all it is to survive, its a mod so there is a limit as to what can be done and what not but still within those limits, there are bounds of tasks that can be done.

Once you've got to grips with the basics then the world is your oyster. I became a medic and enjoyed that for quite a while, made some good friends too.

Depending on how new you are it's hard to say really. How long have you been playing, hours, days?

Funny story, got the game back earlier this year, but could not enjoy because of how old my system was. Only finally got to start on the game last week but I have been doing my best to read in on tactics and watch videos. Still there is a lot to learn. Already have the hang of getting about scavenging and what to do for certain situations.

In that case I'd keep it simple. A good early goal to set is to sort out a small base camp. Find a nice spot off the beaten track and then you're gonna need a tent. Once you've placed your tent then fill it with some basic gear and meds. Your next step could then be to fix up a vehicle. Doing both of those should keep you entertained for a good few hours/days depending on your luck.

T'is quite a dangerous one, Although one I usually make it up to Stary area I tend to hide my vehicle and get up to no good >:D

yeah, heli needs a group of people..at least two..there is a lot of competition to get them and parts are a pain to carry! i had a couple of motorbikes and a car, but never a heli,. and i played hours and hours. the camping site is really funny, you should try to set up one!

It is pretty satisfying to get a camp together, but you can lose it all if the server gets screwed up. Happened to my group a few times, and then we just kind of gave up on the idea... other players finding and taking our stuff is fair, but the server despawning our saved vehicles or going down and wiping everything isn't D:

That's why it's important to play in a server with good admins. They can easily roll back the server after any major issues meaning players don't need to lose anything. It's a good point for the OP though, before you invest too much time on one server, make sure it's a stable one, even better if you can contact the admins and they have a presence.
