Dayz Mod vs SA

Hello i'm debating on getting ARMA II combined operations for Day Z mod but i hear talk about the SA coming out possibly soon. Will i still be able to play the free mod when the SA comes out or will i need to buy the SA to play Day Z. Trying to be efficient with my money so could someone help me out please?

They will be separate. When the SA is released you will still be able to play the MOD but they will NOT be the same.

The free DayZ mod for Arma and the DayZ SA will be entirely different in terms of development and purchases. Buying the SA will in no way affect the running of any mods for Arma at all.

You have a couple of options, you can buy Arma 2 Combined Operations now and play DayZ untill there's noone to host the servers(There probably will be players who will continue to play the mod rather then the SA but its a small playerbase). Or you can buy the SA when it comes out, play a better version of the game and spend less money on something that will: Be better, more people will play.

If you want to save money: Wait for the StandAlone

If you want to play the game right now: Buy Arma 2 Combined Operations and download DayZ commander and play the mod.

Rocket stated out(As I heard, correct me if I'm wrong) that it will most likely be released before the end of 2012 year or after 2013 around January.

He also stated(Correct me if I'm wrong) that the price range wont be over 25 Euros and will go like Minecraft. I.E it will cost less when its alpha and then as updates come it will cost more and more. :)

Its highly unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility. Since no official date has been announced in theory it could be released at any time.

they said multiple times where i have read "We will slip date if necessary" does this mean it will pop up on steam one day and then it will be announced?

It means they will hold back the release date (as they have) if they don't feel the game is ready. All and any info is in the links I have given you. Any other information would be pure speculation. To sum it up, nodody knows and we all just have to be patient. If I had to guess I would say it will be released January but this is a pure guess with no facts to back it up. You will see many people offering you many dates, to clarify, nobody knows :)

Buying ArmA II isn't a bad idea you know, It's not just a mod for DayZ.. there are soooooooooo many other things you can do with the game.. soo many other mods and communities. It's a really great game in fact, and to have it would be a definite plus for anyone interested in legit mil-sim.. Look into some youtube videos.. you'll see it's more than just dayZ..

The release can be any day, just wait, the Steam have a lot of games that you can purchase and play until SA doesn't come out!

Combined ops is still worth buying imo , even after the SA comes out just for all the custom maps. Dayz Namalsk FTW.
