Where am I? Can't find it on the (online) map

Recommended Posts

Looks like possibly the Zelenogorsk area.

If you have a map in-game, you could set a marker on where you want to go (shift+click) and find out how far away you are from there. From there, you could either run there if it's close, of manipulate the markers a little bit to find out where you are.

The answer to your question is in at least two of your photos (when you log in there's a short message on the bottom right that lets you know where you are), you're basically on the coast with Cherno and Electro on either side.

^^This. If you put your back to the coast then you'll be facing north. Follow the coast in either direction and you'll hit Electro or Cherno.

It depends on your playstyle. You could use an online map that marks everything of importance but I think some of the most fun times you have in DayZ are when you're lost and just need to explore. Deerstands can be found all over the map, usually overlooking a field or somewhere a hunter would want to set up shop.

My opinion would be for you to just go exploring and see what you find. It's a VERY big map so you can explore for hours/days even and still not see everything. Just get out there, keep your head down and see what you can find.

Hello there

My advice? Put that map away, it removes half the fun.

It's a great little tool, but imho takes away from the game.
