What engine will the DayZ standalone use?

Recommended Posts

It's own engine, which is based on the Take on Helicopters Engine.

Is that the same engine as what the DayZ Mod is on now?

No.

DayZ (mod) is on the Arma II engine.

The 'Arma 2.5' engine that DayZ Standalone will be running on takes many elements from the Arma II, Arma III and Take on Helicopters engine.

The engine that DayZ will use is a special engine created for use with DayZ - not an existing one.

The "engine" is still going to be the Real Virtuality Engine. However, the DayZ standalone will use its own, highly modified branch of the engine that was used in Take on Helicopters which is basically a RV3.5 engine, as opposed to the Arma 3 RV4 engine.

The branch that is going to be used in the standalone has e.g. a completely new multiplayer structure and will continue to blend with the RV4 engine (shaders etc) in the future.

So, yes, it is still the Real Virtuality engine but a highly modified and thus different and new branch of it that improves older flaws.

I sold my 1973 f100 with tears pouring out 5 years ago :(

Why sell it if you were still attached to it? Needed cash badly or not enough space?
