90% of Servers are Night/Spawn on Coast.

This had just started happening today.

A vast majority of the US servers spawn me at the coast with no gear while it's near pitch-black at night, when I have an already alive character. This happens despite the time on the server (I ususally look for day servers, from around 10 AM to like 5 PM). Two of my friends experience the same problem, and we've only had a handful (one or two) out of 30 servers work properly. When I return to one of the working servers, I spawn where I left off with all of my gear.

Has anybody else experienced this?

This is not a "problem," it's more of a feature.

You're joining servers with private Hives, meaning, everything you do on that specific server is exclusive to that server alone.

Use DayZ Commander to find official DayZ-Hive servers. (I believe it had an option to do that.)

Interesting. This makes sense in regards to my spawn and equipment, however, I don't understand how this would affect the time of day outside. Are Hives specific to your timezone or something?

Servers with their own Hives can do pretty much anything. Including, but not limited to;

- Custom starting load-out or entirely new weapons from outside of DayZ.

- Custom vehicle spawns or entire vehicles.

- Custom day/night cycle. (Permanent day/night, or set the time to what ever they want to.)

- Ability to enable/disable chat channels. (direct/vehicle/group/side-chat)

Even with this, literally 19/20 of the servers I've tried to join is at night, even when it says "1:30 PM" in DayZ Commander. I can understand the coast spawning without your inventory, but there's no way 99% of the US and DayZChernarus servers have it set to night only despite a large majority of the player base preferring daylight. Even with this, I have attempted on both hive and non-hive servers and always get night-time coast spawn save for a specific instance.

But there is a chance that the servers you're picking are catering to the timezones in EU. For some odd reason the servers I keep finding have always-on-daylight, which I -don't- like, as I like to sneak around during the night.

Eh, that still doesn't make sense. Why would all these specific US servers that signify it's daylight be running on a European timezone and be at night? It just doesn't make sense.

I've noticed that problem as well. It could be that DayZ Commander is bugging out because of the servers changing their time of day manually after starting the server.
