purepassion 383 Posted December 22, 2012 Hey Dark Matter and welcome to the forums! In order to evaluate performance, it would be practical to know your new laptop's hardware ;)
Dark Matter (DayZ) 0 Posted December 22, 2012 Sure! Thanks Pure Passion! My Processer is a Intel® Celeron® B830 processor (1.8 GHz, 5 GT/s, 2 MB L3 cache) and My Graphics Card Is An Intergrated ( I know!) Intel HD Graphics Card I Have Already Checked And It Can Run On Low/Med I Just Want To Know How This Will Impact Me. Thanks Again!

purepassion 383 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Ah don't worry a simple double post won't hurt.Hmm yeah these specs really do allow only low settings. However, I can already advise you to disable AA (anti-aliasing) and use one of the provided FXAA options instead. Additionally, you should see which Memory Allocator works best for you and also don't put your shadows on low as this will shift the work away from your GPU to your CPU. Post-processing should be on normal (as highest), as well as HDR. Just see what settings give you the best compromise between performance and visual quality. In general, Arma and also DayZ are rather slow-paced games where your mind is, up to a certain point, worth more than fps. A stable count around 25 is fine.Of course, low fps are always a certain disadvantage but it's not as bad as in e.g. CS or something like that. You will soon realize it's all about the atmosphere, immersion and tension that will make your eart actually pound. ;) Edited December 22, 2012 by PurePassion

Sorry But I Have Another Question. Will It Be Rendered Unplayable Should I Go Into Cherno,Electro Or Any Other Big Citys?
purepassion 383 Posted December 22, 2012 Big cities such as Cherno/Elektro etc indeed have a larger impact on performance. But you will just have to see how much juice you can get from your pc and if you encounter any problems, counter these with adjusted settings. You are more than welcome to report back when you have first ingame results and I'll try to help you as much as possible. The L!ne 31 Posted December 23, 2012 Sorry but: you can run Arma2 with such a setting, but I think it is quite unplayable with the dayzmod (due to much more cpu usage) and even if it is playable: turn off postprocessing. it just ads flares and such stuff. so you will miss enemies and objects to loot.
