Hardcore fanboys Vs General gamers

Recommended Posts

A fanboy will defend DayZ and insist it is perfect, like a creepy anime-ish girlfriend.

A gamer will look at a problem and give constructive criticism.

A prick will silence every creative thought.

I suggested a tension system, headlamps, kicking when dead, lots of ideas...the thread got buried. We have too many idiots and not enough thinkers on this forum. Yet, we wonder why when every idea is met with "OMG BACK TO WOW NOOB!" The pricks have essentially run off the gamers, and now the few survivors left try to struggle on while they slowly deteriorate into the pricks.

Yes, the forums are like DayZ, only the zombies maul you for doing anything other than dying to their M101.

Yeah, problem is that the new update made it challenging. Not too hard. When you push people out of their comfort zone they will be inclined to recover their previous comfort zone. Anyways aside from the bugs I think the update is fine.

They claim they want realism' date=' that all others are pansies and carebears.

[/quote']

The irony is that they say that, but then say nighttime is perfect and DCing was a game mechanic.

Nothing is permanent because the mod's still in alpha and it's all experimental. The new update is borked and fixes will come, it's not unusual at this stage of development.

Be patient, the world isn't ending.

This should just be renamed "The Strawman Thread", as that's what near every other post boils down to.

Yet the community seem to think each patch is a "game" set in stone.

No they dont thats why they make the threads -_-'

They make the threads so Rocket can seem them and fix them. You are just assuming what they do, as most of this forum does.

Yet the community seem to think each patch is a "game" set in stone.

A lot seem to forget that we are pretty adaptable to change too.

Remember when the zombie spawns were fixed and suddenly we had 20 zombies in a town instead of 5? Every other thread on these forums were all "OMG too many zombies, nobody will ever be able scavenge, we're all going to die!"

Fast forward a few weeks and we've got our new zombie drills sorted and they're a trivial inconvenience.

The problems with this update will get fixed, and we'll adapt to the changes that stay. There's no need for all these forecasts of doom and divisive threads that try to blame various types of players for the update being broken.

The mod's in development and Rocket can figure out when things need fixing. Everything's going to be OK.

Okay so been on the forum coming on a week and i get really annoyed by the attitude from hardcore dayz players. Really' date=' if someone doesn't like an update, don't just come to the assumption "hurp durp he must suck at this game, cause he obviously plays CoD... hurp derp" No you make yourselves look like dickheads nuff said.

1.7.1 update came out and basically some people find it too hard. Does it mean that all they play is CoD? Of course not so get the fucking idea out of your heads, stuck up forum brats. They think it is too hard and then when they come on you tell them to get off and go somewhere else. I think the game shouldn't be all harcore personally. Because then ROCKET would only sell the game to about 10-20% of the DayZ players.

General gamers want to play a game that they find fun. If the update ruined that they should have the right to express their opinion without forum elitests ( you know who you are, the dickheads) slagging them off.

And all I say is Let the hate toward me begin

There's something about human beings that makes them "kiss a lot of ass" metaphorically (and some times literally) when it comes down to someone popular. I can think of Justin Bieber's fans backing absolutely everything he does, even if that is eating shit from a dead baby seal he just clubbed to death. They will be all WELL HE HAS STYLE. LEAVE HIM ALONE. YOU DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO HIM. YOU ARE JEALOUS!!.

Now just change Justin Bieber for Rocket and you'll have all these threads and post about how YOUR A CAREBEAR HURR. DEEL WITH IT. DELICIOUS TEARS DUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRR! People can't even come up with arguments or phrases of their own so they regurgitate the words written by said 'celebrity' (yes Rocket, you are a celebrity xD) to the point of nausea.

So I ask again to all these people, what is the point of having a forum where people can express their opinions if the final answer is going to be DEEL WITH EET?

They claim they want realism' date=' that all others are pansies and carebears. What they want is something the vast majority of the public is NOT going to pay for.

There needs to be a compromise.[/quote']

Disagree, vehemently.

Compromising gameplay elements...

Nice selective edit of my post. No one said anything about "compromising gameplay elements".

The compromise was to have BOTH. Have hardcore servers AND easier servers. Make them exclusive if you like, you play on one or the other but you can't switch from easy to hard or hard to easy until you start a new character.

There are ways to do this other than the attitude of "it must be MY way or NO way".

I think people should leave their preconceptions of how hard or easy a game should be when playing DayZ.

Also if you pay for nothing you are owed nothing. The teams does this out of the kindness of their hearts, so criticism is acceptable but not hate. Blatant rage, hate, etc is unnessecary but human.

This hardcore, casual, normal gamer perception is just that, a perception and not just that but a very bad one. A made up one. A lie. A distinction of and attempt to segregate people who you disagree with into convenient piles to throw terms like "carebear" "casual" and tell em to "go back to [insert AAA shooter here]". It's fucking disgraceful You people are worse than those you complain about.

Stop trying to act like opinions are being suppressed by the "hardcore fanboys".

If you're the guy defending environmental damage or the UI in DayZ, you are a fanboy. Nothing you say is valid.

Express your opinion all day, just don't expect everyone to agree with it. Also, the problem with your argument is... no one is buying DayZ, it's free right now, so Rocket can do what he wants, and you either play it or don't, that's it. It's been made clear over time that this game isn't Hello Kitty Island Adventure, BF4 or CoD95. If you don't like the difficulty, don't play, and if it's eventually for sale, don't buy it, it's that simple.

Actually it's not free as it costs $30 to even play DayZ.. :P

I'm not mad by people wanting a harder game. If people want no weapon on spawn, eagle eye zeds, and less gear, that is their opinion. What I fucking hate is people posting legitimate complaints like "I was prone walking through a city, staying away from zeds, hit a ramp and my character stood up alerting everyone in 300 yards", and then reading the reply list to see "QQ moar carebear", "quit fucking crying", "in alpha retard", "then be more careful idiot".

Jesus Christ. The acting of changing stance to crouch and alerting every zombie is perfectly fine? Fuck, might as well play Left 4 Dead.

Rocket isn't selling DayZ. With the community growing though this will only escalate, as it tends to do on this wonderful thing called, "the internet". :P

You've encountered the fanboy. They're more common here than in other corners of the internet, and infinitely more annoying since the game is truly buggy as all fuck (not DayZ, ARMA). Unfortunately, the internet offers an equal voice to stupid people -- and mods won't ban fanboys, they think it's bad for business -- just something you're going to have to live with.
