DayZ is a Sandbox game.

(Or lets say it is supposed to be ;) of course the mod lacks content right now)

There will be quite a number of important additions to the game which

will give us more options and long term motivation in the standalone.

But I think it should not concentrate entirely on things like guns, zombies, ammunition,

base building, shooting, killing, looting and dying.

There are other things.

Beside these core activities I had a lot of fun doing other random stuff, like sitting around with my guys at a campfire and joking around. Greatest example was a very well organized gay disco on the hospital rooftops in Cherno.

The game should offer more opportunities to realize such stuff.

Yea, Zombies, apocalypse, I know, but people would try to bring back some normality,

so I think it fits the scenario.

Party equipment is already there, that's ok. (Flares, Chems, all that stuff).

A 'dance' command is already in the code, give us access to that without hacking.

New "leisure-items":

A chess board! You can sit down somewhere in Chernarus and play a game of chess as a minigame.

You can be killed of course while doing so. Sometimes I would just love to do that

kind of stuff, instead of running around, looting, killing.

Gituar? Playing cards? CD-player? (Yea that's great. Than you could find CDs with random music on it.

Than you trade CDs :D (copyright issues of course ^^ ) )

Have no other ideas but I think this is interesting! Once you have a base set up and have hoarded loads of gear this could make the game more interesting :) A lot more social interaction type elements to the game :)

Would love to see some Acoustic Guitars added :D I think it would personally add in more immersion and make people not want to kill people.. I mean hell, who wants to kill a man playing a guitar around his campfire?

On the topic of playing cards, I would like to see them implemented as simply a deck of cards, so you can play any game you want.

No fixed in-game rules, just a deck of cards and a little bit of freedom.

I might have just missed all the examples, but I've never seen it done before.

There's been poker, blackjack, hearts and solitaire. But the opportunity to sit down and teach some dodgers how to play Switch, Cheat or any game you can think of, would kick ass.

It also seems like the sort of idea an Anti-Game would adopt.

Here's hoping. ^_^

I can see it now. A group of survivors playing cards in there house. Boom door gets kicked in, Bandit runs in and mows them all down. I would quite enjoy playing cards through ArmA though. Jut make sure not to play with sore losers or you might be filled with bullet holes ;)
