Operation Arrowhead

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm thinking about buying operation arrowhead, and I have some questions:

1 - With ARMA 2 Free, I will be able to run dayz right? Will I have any trouble with that?

2- Can I play all of the mods with operation arrowhead? Takistan life, 1944 etc.?

3 - Is there substantial difference between having the Combat Operations and the ARMA 2 free + operation arrowhead aside from the fact that I will not have the single player for ARMA 2?

Can someone reply please? One more question, can I have operation arrowhead on Steam and Arma 2 Free outside of steam and play dayz?

Combined Ops is 40% off on steam right now. $17.99... currently $6 more than OA alone. If you're gonna buy OA, you should pony up for the full monty. From what I understand, using the free version of Arma will leave you with some pretty bad looking textures. Sorry, but i don't know the answers to the rest of your questions.

If you have Arma 2 free you will need to buy Operation Arrowhead to be able to play DayZ. If you're running A2 Free as opposed to Arma 2 (full version) you will have lower quality textures and sound on much of the map and textures. With that set-up you will be able to play the other mods though.

I would say that for the price difference ($6) it's worth getting combined ops.

I know it's too late for the OP, but here for frugality's sake...

The standalone Day Z game will (barring problems) be out very soon. If you're going to be playing that, it makes plenty of sense to cheap out and only buy Op:Arrowhead for now. I think it's pretty fair to assume that anyone who still doesn't have ARMA II - four years after its release - is not terribly interested in playing it. And as for "pretty bad looking textures" and sound, they are the textures and sounds from ARMA II Free, so you can easily try it out yourself (or google a comparison) to determine whether this will bother you. My advice, get OA-only on sale (last year at this time it was $9.99 on Steam, but right now it is $11.99) and be happy. As much as buying the CO package may get you a higher discount, a "deal" is still a waste of your money when it's something you will never play.
