Taviana - Which?

I rent a server with Dayz.st, I want a map change from Chernarus and I was thinking about running Taviana, But i dont know which one to use. Do people use one more then an other?, Is one is more bug free? What are the differences?

From what I can gather .com was supposed to pick up the slack that .eu had left, but the .eu stepped up the game hard, .eu seems to be the version to run but frankly I'm not sure.

The vehicle spawning is definately not working correctly in .eu, lots of allowed vehicles are not spawning for me. I haven't had time to investigate it though.

Go to the changelogs for both and compare which I think is suggested in one of the threads I linked... .eu has LOTS of cool features...

Grave stones instead of deadbodies

Grave stones can be destroyed

Zombies only fall to head shots

Zombies spawn and can damage vehicles

Once windows are busted players in vehicles take damage from Zombies

I like it a LOT it's the first map that's made me want to leave Chernarus.

As of the latest versions - our clan has tried both - the .eu version is extremely bugged. We had players braking their legs while running on level ground, the "new and custom" buildings they added were half in the air in a lot of locations, when you are driving on the highway your vehicle will randomly slow down and speed back up (as if you are going from road to dirt and back to road), the sounds are off (as you walk around), and the list goes on and on. The .com version does not have all of the "custom features" that the .eu version has (like it does not have the custom humanity system with the custom clothing, the Grave Cross thing (which was glitchy), and a few other things) but all that being said it is way less glitchy (minus a few loot piles being off the ground in some places by a few inches to a few feet). Our clan found that we got a lot less pissed off playing the .com version as the glitches were just too common in the .eu version.

Personally I would like to see the glitches worked out on both and see them merge together as both have unique features that if implemented correctly would be pretty cool, but I doubt that will ever happen.

Can you clarify which versions you ran? I haven't had any of the glitches you've mentioned and me and my friends have played our .eu server for hours, driven, flown, boated, ran, looted etc etc etc... no such problems on ours.

Who's your host and what was the entire setup? Bliss? Public? Private?

I've only clear bugginess I've come across are a few buildings that mess your character up as far as walking but I've never had any broken bones entering or exiting. That and the vehicle spawns do not work as they should although it's hard to tell when there is no official approved vehicle list, other than that everything seemed to work ok... haven't been all over though map is HUGE.

I'd love to see eitherside work up some clear documentation.. I'd be more than willing to contribute to the effort.

I may run the .com version

We run a DayZ Taviana EU 1.5.0 server and dont have any of the problems listed above. We used the build by Stapo off of Github/here and it works really well, link in sig.

Had some strange stuff happen last night exiting that giant church, broke my leg walking out. no bleeding or death but broken legs alright...

Other than that though I've really only noticed minor glitches at most, played a decent amount on our server... REALLY like the map and the mechanics added in .eu.

landing a helicopter is now for pros only basically, once you're in an area the zombies come flocking to it, and if you land on them they will damage you as you land... although the rotor blades do keep them at bay if you land with them far enough away...

LOVE the damage taken in vehicles from zombies but find it a litttle weird that 90kp/h isn't enough to knock one down anymore. I'd imagine that's something they'll work on.

The other thing I find both HILARIOUS for right now and a good sign they plan timely updates is the Santa zombies... really awesome... Haven't seen a tombstone yet have to check that out but they've been described to me and sound cool.
