dayz standalone news for christmas

I have had my eye on this mod/game for a while but I am wondering if it is worth buying Arma 2 for the mod or if I should wait for the standalone to come out?

IMO Standalone is right round the corner so it is worth the wait,

However i still play the mod on a very frequent basis, all the new maps, custom features with private hives makes it even more enjoyable and the wait just a little less painful.

New comers i would advice to wait till Standalone but if you seriously can't wait get ARMA II CO get DayZ, look about the forums and get into a good Private Hive then enjoy till the main release... the nice new features and extra play we have with it now we can stretch the already awesome DayZ MOD experience just that little bit further :)

For an impatient new comer I would say get the mod first.

See if you like what your playing and the game will still probably feel fresh by the time SA comes out. Those of us who have played since the beginning are probably the ones getting ancy due to us finding what we have at hand a little stalwart by comparison to what's just around the corner.

"Dean “Rocket” Hall wrote a brief missive to fans about the whole saga surrounding the development of the standalone DayZ game, apologizing for his recent silence and expressing a desire to distance himself from the drama surrounding competing (or, as some would say, “rip-off”) game The War Z’s contentious release and subsequent removal from Valve’s Steam service.

well it kinda happened like i said it would in a previous post

if devs arnt ready to release they mumble words like a politician trying to word things cleverly and not upset people. it doesn't work and tbh just stating clearly your intentions would be a refreshing change in gaming world.

i said there would be either mumblings or the game would come out in alpha and what is here ? mumblings and reddit bla bla.

i feel sorry if he has high blood pressure but... if he is in charge that's his job his duty . that's what you get paid for .

it doesn't cost any money or sanity or extra pressure to just say

okay guys SA wont be released for christmas we had problems we will try for jan or feb not some mumblings diluted through other channels. you might think im being a bit harsh but i really not bothered what you ate for breakfast or had 20 hrs in bed a sleep. haha biggest thing people come to read about is news on here and the one question YOU KNOW everyone wants to know about and you tell people about going to sleep for nearly a day :lol:

just tell people what they want to know about its not that hard really. suck asses will mop that im going to everest shit up but people who enjoy and love just playing dayz really dont give a **** what a dev does.

what some may not get is alot will be considering or have held off buying combined ops to play what we play now

like me for eg i may need to 2 more copies for my sons to play but if standalone is out in next few weeks then is it worth waiting those few more weeks?

so like me and many others who have been told to wait for standalone if its been put back months they could buy the combined ops pack and still play and get monies worth for three months or so if thats the case.

hope some understand this and realize that alot of sales could be generated by answering the all important question of when its out.

if i know i can either buy 2 combined ops packs today but if i did and then next week its annouced its a week till standalone your gunna be pissed.

After watching the whole WarZ fiasco i know the Dev team will not be rushing anything for the Foundation Release, and being it Christmas at the moment i can't see much work happening mainly because everyone is away home! I am expecting January/February and maybe an announcement from the Dev team before the year is out.

Think it is completely your call on this one buddy, but do you buy 2 copies of CO to last 2 months? TBH i probably would....

There is alot going on in the backgrounds and if the Devs feel it's right to hold back nay announcements and then hold back the SA then they must have god reason to do so, Why rush anything, WarZ is now nothing so DayZ has the market to it'self but why rush what we have like WarZ when we can hold out, let the Dev Team finish up what they need to do then await their golden words of a release date.

They are not holding back just to piss you off, there are reasons behind what they do and how they work and i for one am not going to question the actions of the Pro's!

thats true, did not think of that. but they did say in the "facts" that is was coming out in December so there are 9 more days it could be released.

i hope they did not lie to us and push it back into 2013.

Agreed. There was "Hope" of it being released in December but it was never laid in concrete that it "Would" be released. It has obviously been delayed for good reason and i am happy for one for the Devs to iron out any problems before we the general public get our mits on it!

no i understand the game they have to play but its the bs they try to fill out the no news that annoys me and others

they could give you some info . why do you think rocket mentioned his blood pressure ? it was so people feel sorry for him and maybe lay off asking about the SA ;) please don't say it wasn't it is its a game just like politicians answer. i understand this is a business its not for love but just saying the blunt truth would be nice instead of side steeping the basic truth. im not wishing the games rushed either far from it im happy to wait even six months ! but what i cant stand is wishy washy nothing ness like im bla bla bla when you know the whole community just wants a idea on what actually going off and not what hes had for breakfast or how many hours sleep he had or if he had a haircut :lol:
