Indexai 0 Posted June 17, 2012 Walk proning while holding shift - I was basically walking with the EAR to zero and eye to three dots and a Zombie could see/hear me 20 meters away and started running towards me I had to run into a building which made several zombies coming after me to, there is no way I can survive this since the new 1.7.1 patch since we don't get any makarovs now the new patch says that you can hide that's bullshit how can you hide if the zombies runs faster then you and you can not outrun them or hide in a building.I hope the new patch fixes this because all I see in my server is people dying each 10 seconds. Also insta bleeding after 1 hit from a zombie is the most idiotic thing i've even seen.So since I can't do shit I just have to respawn like every other player does since the 1.7.1 patch. mrperson666 0 Posted June 17, 2012 I guess it's a matter of taste how much of the game you want to spend crawling, moving at a snails pace.I liked the old way, where you could get reasonably close to zombies while crawling. It was quite exciting having zombies muttering away a few meters from you as slipped between them. But you didn't have to go overboard and crawl everywhere, crouching was ok as long as you were 30 meters or so away.I mean, who wants to crawl all the way from the beach to the middle of Cherno? Even in the city, it was nice to be selective about when you crawled versus crouched. If I couldn't see any zeds, I'd take a risk and make a crouched dash across a road or even down a block. And ususally got away with it.But now you're pretty much committed to crawling absolutely everywhere once you're within a couple of hundred metres of any building. To me, personally, that's a real drag. Tedious.I much preferred the old zombie sensory zones. Too much crawling is boring.

You can stop playing at any time and come back when the mod is completed or when the standalone is completed(Which then you can call it a game.)What I am trying to say is Rocket isn't a Super God, he needs time to test stuff and put features in and change features. You have no reason to play right now if you don't like it. Come back when it officially releases.

We still have to learn how the "lose sight" mechanic works though. And the respawn algorithm not getting the intended results, causing some unpleasant things.Funny thing is that while zeds now spawn further from the players, they can still instant spot you as they spawn, ruining the fact that the distance has change (especially considering their high speed). mrperson666 0 Posted June 17, 2012 JPalmer. Thanks for the info, I was unaware playing or not playing was optional. However, isn't the point of the alpha to test it and get feedback? BTW, I paid for Arma2, but I bought Arma2 to play DayZ. I'm not angrily demanding my money back or throwing a hissy fit. I'm providing feedback about a change to the mod which I personally found lowered my enjoyment of it.
