Do you use the online maps?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, when I try new maps I always seem to get lost sometimes, and I like using the online maps to find military bases etc...

But I feel like that can sometimes ruin the experience, because you find all the best places right away and that can make it boring very fast..

What do you guys do?

I definitely use an online map for the first 12 in-game hours I spend on a new map, so I can get a grip on the locations you spawn at, so it'll be easier for me to locate myself later on.

Right now, I don't need a map, watch or compass of any kind to know where I am, assuming that I'm playing on Chernarus or Namalsk.

I like to try not to use the online maps for as long as possible when playing a new map because it makes the experience better...but if I've spent about 4 hours looking for a map to try to meet up with friends I usually break!!!

At first I used the in-game map which gave me a good indication what direction everything was in - external maps will hurt you in the long run.

Using external maps will only make it worse for you, by forcing yourself to find things yourself you begin to remember important landmarks and other notable locations on your journey.

Using an online map means you know where you are going and you don't really pay attention on the way there, this will make life harder if you are working in a team and you know where something is on the map but can't properly direct yourself there on foot.

Yea I do on new maps to being with till i can get my bearings a little better. Even with an online map you dont always find all the great stuff right away - especially with Taviana!
