"Server connection rejected - Bad version" is making me want a refund..

Hey. :)

I've had DayZ for around a year now, and this mod is the only reason i bought Arma 2. I've had so much fun with it, but some months ago i started getting "Server connection rejected - Bad version" on more and more servers. I thought it would go away after the next patch, but it didn't. Now it is impossible for me to join any server at all. I'm using dayz commander to filter servers with incorrect beta versions, i've updated both beta and mod version to the latest, and i updated Battleye manually a month ago. After updating the Battleye, the first server i joined worked, and then all the next servers sent me the same message: "Bad version" ...

Nothing seems to work, and i am getting really frustrated. In my desperation i bought WarZ in the hope of a similar experience, but it feels sort of "soulless". I really have no clue what to do anymore. I used

to try to fix it, but i still can't get dayz working. Does anybody know what to do? Dayz is by far the best game(mod) I've ever had, and whenever i look at Frankie's videos, i really miss being able to play dayz.

Any tips to get the game working would be appreciated. I know many, many others have this problem, but nothing seems to work.

Hi there

had the same exact problem a few weeks back

(this worked for my verion of Arma 2 free and Arma 2 OA retail copy)

Here is what i did

i opened regedit (just type that in the search bar in your taskbar or open it in program files or whatever)

Deleted both arma folders in both of these folders :

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio

And reinstalled my arma 2 OA an arma 2 free into one folder and used Playwithsix to update my dayz mod and all the other maps

And about that business with dayzcommander not working it might not find the patch your arma2 is installed but i guarantee if you use playwithsix and set the arma 2 and arma 2 oa into the gamefile directory you can easily download new maps and update them very easily, i have been playing for 3 weeks like this without any problems

Oh, thanks. Before you posted though, i did after some time on google find the solution. Apparently, launching dayz with steam does something to the game. When i disabled the "launch with steam" option the game worked perfectly fine again. ^_^

Yeah, it really is frustrating. As i understood it you had the same problem? Google can really be your best friend sometimes at problems like this.
