Something for the more creative players to tell their story, or for tactical players to mark the cords of a point of interest, or for bandits to leave on corpses to lure survivors into a trap. I honestly think these would be a great way to add a story element to the game.

They would be found in residential spawns and would take up 1 backpack/inventory slot. When a player dies, another survivor would be able to pick it up, read the other player's and continue where he left off.

Well its pretty obvious you aren't doing this for attention so don't worry about it. We all make that mistake at some point.

You made me chuckle.

You think any of the poor sods here follow "forum ediquette"? Some of the people around here in this community are terrible. There're some good ones, but most are just 'bleh'.

like it

they should also give one a chart tool, so you can keep track of the supplies of your group with a ingame item

and maybe even have the ability to draw something in that book, or even on you map, like mark a location

(i know you can do this now, but everyone else can see it too)

.. but that would mean, that you would have penises everywhere

Diaries!

I have just been playing Deadlight and the diaries add so much to the game.

Finding bits and pieces all over the place, makes you want to finish the diary and read it among the Zombie apocalypse.
