Ataxio 0 Posted November 30, 2012 Hi2u, I have a few questions about HFB servers if someone is able to assist me. I just purchased a "DayZ Package", intending to start my own server with access to the main hive, unfortunately I believe i picked up a private hive only server. My question is, does HFB infact have ANY servers with main hive access, and if so which ones? Their website is a bit redundant about things & not so clear about others...Or maybe I'm just setting it up wrong somehow, as each time I log into it I'm on the beach as a fresh spawn.Any assistance is appreciated. kiotie 23 Posted November 30, 2012 Hi Ataxio,From the chart, you can see exactly what you're getting when you buy a server from HFB: http://hfbservers.com/index.php/dayzThere are rows that specify whether the server connects to HFB's hive or not. Therefore, you should order the Standard server, as it is connected to neither HFB's community nor private hive. You may contact support in order to get your server transferred.Hope this helps! Ataxio 0 Posted December 1, 2012 Yeah it's starting to seem that way, I'm a huge newb when it comes to internet stuff & servers. I'm much more of a hardware guy.I've received the following response from a HFB rep, and only got a one sentence reply to 3 questions..."Your current server connects to the main HFB hive. Any other services connect to HFB's private hive(s)."To me this seems like they don't offer any servers connected to the main hive. I'm still quite confused. Idk if the HFB hive means the main hive my characters data is currently saved to, or if its HFBs own circle of servers. If they do in fact offer this service, I've been told no method to correct that or purchase the type of server I want. kiotie 23 Posted December 1, 2012 Hi,Could you please PM me your email address or name in our system? I believe I was the one who responded to that. If you have a Standard server, then it is connected to the official Hive. Package and Private plus are not.My apologies for the confusion.
Ataxio 0 Posted December 1, 2012 np & thanks for your help. Looks like I have everything setup right. But the server is stuck at Creating. Is it typical for this to take a while the first time? When a player joins I get an update in the server log that the hive is starting, and objects load. But were stuck at a black map. DoV Roller 10 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) When you sign up for HFBServer's service, MAKE SURE that you completely understand what's provided.I signed up for service, logged in to the control panel, and I was not impressed by what was provided. I contacted their support team to cancel my subscription in a matter of minutes, and due to their "ToS" they could not give me a refund. That is just wrong, if your customer does not find your service suitable, you don't blame it on your ToS and literally rob them, you show courtesy and a bit of customer service skills. It was my fault that I didn't read their ToS, I guess I got comfortable for a moment. They can keep my $35 and have a Christmas meal on me ;)By the way they offered me a managed host option which is $50 a month just because their servers did not offer what some others do.
