Spawn? Nay! ARRIVE!!

Recommended Posts

I don't agree with the squad/friend spawns. That's a ridiculous idea.

But what WOULD be nice is some realistic context to your arrival on Chernarus. For example, if you do simply find yourself on a beach, surely you were washed up there and should be in quite a state - mainly wet and cold. Perhaps some clues as to what you were before based on your clothing and (random, low-mid value, non-military) items. This would give the more nasty kind of bandits more reason to exist, which gives bandit police more reason to exit. A Bambi might actually have some decent loot from time to time.

Perhaps you could spawn along the East coast too. Why not? Aside from game balance issues and predictability/structure (north vs south), there's no reason why you might not wash up on the Eastern shore.

What if, you spawned on a sinking boat or raft, and it's all you can do to make it to shore, or one of the islands? This just gives the player some choice.

Let me know what you think!

It would help with immersion. I like this idea. Spawning on a boat/raft would be tricky though. Spawn killing nit-wits would camp out with a DMR plucking players out the water.

Maybe on spawn only you are invisible till shore is reached.

Overall I agree and like where you're going with this! Some context around how you arrive where you are would be really cool. Even just spawning in different locations would be nice. Why does it always have to be on the coast?

Perhaps you wake up in a building in some random town.

Love your sinking boat idea!

Maybe you spawn inside a wrecked car, chopper, or laying next to a wrecked motorcycle.

What about spawning in a hospital bed?

T'would be cool if you woke up in a shallow grave, couple of fresh dead bodies with shovels near by and zeds gnawing their brains!

I'd like to "spawn", look around, and think.... "Damn, how the hell did I get here? This is weird... what happened? OH SHIT WHATS THAT?!" *RUN*

Yeah, great! I was thinking the same, doesn't have to be on the shore, you might wake up in a locked room. Classic missed the apocalypse due to being in a coma. Next to a crashed motorcycle or something would be very cool. OK I have this vehicle and I'm in the middle of nowhere. Let's see if the next town has a mechanic... WTF ZOMBIES!? A shallow grave possibly one of the best ideas I've heard.

How you arrive could define what clothes you wear and what items you have access to.

EDIT: about locked rooms/windows. If I was trapped in a room with a hoard of zombies, I would smash the window and jump out. And if I found a locked door, I would try to bust the lock to reach the untouched loot.

Must say... I like the title :)

I think the premise of this idea is good, but balancing issues would need to be addressed obviously. I think spawning on a sinking boat would be too difficult... but supposing we add a shipwreck (like a large liner) and you wake up in a cabin or such? Would be a pretty cool map addition anyway I think.

Its sounds like an interesting idea to me and I'd love to see it implemented. I especially like the randomized loot idea.

Oh yeah, love the title.
