Installation Help

Recommended Posts

I`ve read the installation guide, but I don`t think I understand it properly. I get stuck where it tells me to 'make a folder named @Day Z in C:/programfiles(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/arma2 operation arrowhead. I didn`t buy the game through steam, I bought ARMA 2 combined operations at the store. I have ARMA installed to C:/programfiles(x86)/Bohemia Interactive/ARMA2, and I can`t find the 'ARMA 2 operation arrowhead' files anywhere in it. I know I am probably overlooking something obvious, but can someone please tell me where to put the @dayZ folder? Thanks.

Read this...

The basics are...

Make a folder @dayz, in that folder make another named addons.

Put the DayZ pbo files in the "addons" folder.

Now, put the @dayz folder in the main ArmA 2 folder.

Open the game Arma 2/CO using the exe. tab found in the main ArmA 2 folder.

Go to expansions and select dayz adding to the list.

Restart (game will tell you).

Some will say install DayZ Commander or "six".

I use SpiritedMachine's ArmAII launcher, to mix and match mods.

You will need to install a beta patch to join servers..

Looks like this with ArmAII Launcher...

Might help, might not.

Failing that get DayZ commander and it will find the folder automatically and install dayz and the newest betas in to it. All you have to do is press install each time a new update comes out (and it will let you know when a new one is available).

I also use the Arma II Launcher it is an awesome program. I use it for ArmA 2 mainly though as Commander is so much more convenient and easy for DayZ, the server browser is also BY FAR the best out of all the other programs, none of the others even come close.
