What do I need to buy for best DayZ visuals?

Hi! I just decided after much D3 inferno farming that I needed a break, and I had been waiting awhile to possibly try Arma2/DayZ. I did some research and it looks like you need the expansions in order to get the best skins/visuals? Is this true and, given that I will be purchasing on steam, which package should I get? I'm on a mid-high range rig and wanted the best visuals possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated -- really excited to start playing.

Buy Combined Operations & the British American Forces+Private Military Company DLC's and you're set.

Don't you also need ArmA2, to avoid ArmA2 free/lite graphics?

I had had none of the above, I think I'd get ArmA X edition, which include all the above and also the orignal OFP:CWC and ArmA1.

combined forces includes both arma2 and arma2:OA

Sir,there are enough Servers with people that wont shot on sight,the key here is communication.

If you are not sure about the intentions of the person,ask via ingame voice and hope for the best ;)

Sidenote: Do not buy Arma X via Steam,if you buy it retail you get a nice Box to display and Maps to study and touch.Digital edition doesn't provide this awesomeness

Aha so I need also British armed forces to see british camo in hi-res right?

I have bought Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead and Private Military Company and now I just wish I had bought the ultimate collection with everything.
