Hi readers,

2) Highest Rate of Fire: I dunno. M4?

3) Range: L85. M16 ACOG is good, but it has no zeroing I believe.

4) Ammo rarity: Pretty sure they're all equal. I seem to find AKM mags the most.

5) CQB performance: M4 holo.

6) Mid range performance: L85 @ 300+ meters, M4 holo for less than 250.

7) Sights/Optics: L85.

8) Power: AKM is the most powerful, however its quite hard to actually hit things.

If your having trouble hitting things with the AKM then you either forgot to zero it or you cant shoot for shit.

Lots of recoil, impossible to go full auto unless you're fighting within like 50 meters, bad sights.

Per shot the Holo is lacking in stopping power compared with the FAL or the AKM, and it's lack of precision makes it less powerful than the ACOG, but it's ability to fire 40mm grenades makes it much more flexible to deal with all manner of threats.

Now if the CZ 805 BREN B1 G1 were in the game, that'd be a whole other thing entirely.

Not sure why you made this, but in my opinion the M14 is the best Battle Rifle you'll find for being a Hero, Survivor, or Bandit.

7) Sights/Optics: I aim best when I have Holo sights on my weapon, and the only weapon with holo sights is the M4A1 Holo

8) Power (=a gun that maintains a decent power level at all ranges, and is generally powerful): FN FAL. (Second best for range and damage would be the AKM).

So... As you can see I prefer the AKM...

dont even know why you wana try a assualt rifle for some of these things, i find the sniper rifles even the m24 to be good, i usually use the AS50 for recon and taking out bandits from medium(around 200m) to long range (longest shot ive made was 800m)

however if your in citys/close combat i prefer the ak/akm unless you dont know how to use the zeroing on the akm

- off topic anyone know why the akm has a zeroing even tho there is no type of scope and that it is in iron sights or is it soppose to be the only gun that zerios in w/o losing alot of vision around you?

-edit- for obvious reasons dont use the sniper rifle in the middle of town.. i dont even suggest using a assault rifle in middle of town unless you have a silenced mp5 or some sort of silenced weapon.

M4 CCO is generally my favorite for DayZ. Deadly accurate and packs a punch, 2 to the chest is all it takes.

I had an AKM, but it was empty so I threw it for an AK-74.But are you sure about these?In ArmA 2 SP (but in DayZ too) the AKM seems to be pretty...realistic, in terms of inaccuracy.Also, the mags are fairly hard to find, they're not exactly the most common ammo type you get to see lying around.

Made this cause I curently have an AK-74, and I'd like to see what the community thinks about this gun.So far, it seem that none appreiciates an AK very much.

the ak is pretty good from how me and my brother use it but i would never use it for specifically covering someone or scouting a area from 500m+ away. the ak ammo drop rate in my opinion to the stanag rounds in military areas is about the same, if i dont find it in one area i find a mass amount usually 3+ ammo in another area.
