How to transfer items without them magically disapearing?!

Please help! I was dying of dehydration, a friend was trying to give me soda, he scrolled down to open the pack tried to give it to me and it disapeared and I died. Pleas e help me figure this out so It doesnt happen again!! looked everywhere online can't figure it out

Maybe he didn't have space in his bag? That sometimes happens to me, Could have been a glitch or maybe your "Friend" just didn't grab it

I think you must be famous or something..

..for being one of the few rare people who manage to die of dehydration.

Even the nearest town -- or the town after at most -- tends to have more than one can of soda. How do you die without finding one?

As for how to transfer items without them disappearing;

Basically you just go to your gear/backpack and drop it.

Sometimes items glitch, so it's better to drop it into a pre-existing loot pile.

So it's good to find an item -- any item -- lying around, and drop it onto that.
