New HUD?

Recommended Posts

I've been lurking around trying to figure out what the pistol in the HUD is, and I couldn't find anything. I made this account just to ask this question.

What is it for though? Does it turn red if I do something wrong? Does it even turn red?

you'd rather not know whether or not you're in combat? especially when it becomes fatal to log out in combat

If you shoot/get shot at (at a close vicinity)/ throw grenade/throw flare/throw random object/ receive grenade/receive flare/receive random object or any other form of action that may lead to conflict, your pistol starts flashing, indicating you are in a combat situation (Even if you threw a chemlight to pickup) and thus, you will be unable to log off the game until the timer hits 0. If you manage to exit before the timer expires, you will be dead when you log back in. Prevents combat logging effectively.
