DayZ Newb/Bambi Guide/Help *Updated*

My Noob/Bambi guide/help

So when i first started up i looked at the forums a lot to check if there were any guides or so on to get gear with out getting killed every 2 minutes well here's how i started in the beginning i played on servers with 1-5 players (Too Afraid to play on more populated servers) well this worked fine well if you spawn near the shore in the right corner it should say on the 2nd line where you spawned go to the DayZdb.com/map and find the location when you finally found it head for the big cities like Chernogorsk, Elektrozadovsk, maybe Balota Airfield...

Recommended loadout

2x Morphine (Found at hospitals)

2x Painkillers (Found at hospitals, houses, stores and more locations)

1x Heatpack (Almost everywhere but mostly in houses and stores)

2x Blood Transfusion (Found at hospitals only another player can use it on you)

2x Drinks (Found almost everywhere)

2x Food (Also found almost everywhere)

4x Clips of ammo (Found mostly in Military Buildings)

3x Bandages (Found in Hospitals and regular buildings)

Servers

U probably want to avoid the Private Hive servers cause your gear won't be saved and you can only play with the gear you find on the server on that server

you should also join a server on Easy if you are new or Normal since the zombies dosen't do so much damage in expert they'll probably just break your legs

1-5 players (If you don't want to get thrown into Pvp situations or just want some good gear w/o getting killed)

5-10 (Small chance of meeting other players in high trafficed areas like Cherno, Elektro, NW Airfield so on.)

10-20 (if you want a bit challenge from the start and kill some bandits)

20-40 (you will probably meets lots of other players and will be killed a lot unless you have some skills)

Where do i find good gear?

Places to head to if you want some good military gear instead of a makarov

Stary Sobor (Chance of getting good weps)

Navy Sobor (Removed since it's just a normal town silly me :3)

NW Airfield (lots of military loot head for the Barracks if you want some good ones though)

Balota Airfield (Also chance of getting some good weapons)

Ofc there's more locations but these are the ones i choosed..

Zombies...

Zombies are a bit buggy at the time since they are Soldiers using other sounds and skins so the zombies are Zig-Zagging like a normal soldier would do to avoid bullets so it might not be easy if a big horde of zombies are chasing you go for Pinetrees/Bushes and run through the Branches so the zombies will go to your last known location or going up mountains since the zombies can't follow you and you'll have a chance of shooting them or make a run for it don't make too much noise/stay low the zombies are able to see and hear you and will chase you if you make too much noise or you are easy to be seen keep your head down and cheat those nasty bastards...

Players.

Oh noes players and no gun well other players are just like you! they choose to be freindly or bandit i will explain the diffrence longer down the page... Well since other players are actually more dangerous than zombies i would highly advice you to avoid high geared players if you don't want to risk all your gear they can also be freindly and give you some goodies most players like you would go where the good things are like Elektro, Cherno, NW Airfield etc... Most of them might be bandits but if you don't care about loosing your gear go find another surviver and see if hies freindly he might be able to help you watch your back some people are sadly choosing to be bandits killing you on sight so watch out for those high hills you don't know if a sniper is watching you...

Camps!!!

Other players set up camps to save Gear/Vehicles/Food/Medical Supplies high geared camps might be hard to find but they are out there. Tents are just like normal tents but they have a Camo skins that makes them hard to see them in the woods so keep your eyes open when you are running through big forrests. People might run back to their camps to get their gear if you see a high equiped player why not stalk them and get their gear when they leave.

Vehicles.

There are vehicles located around the map also shown at DayZdb.com/map they might not spawn or have already been taken by another player there are a lot of diffrent vehicles like Civilian Vehicles, Military Vehicles, Pick Ups, Helicopters, Atvs and so on. Vehicles need fuel just like in the real life so you might want to take some Gas Cans with you inside of the vehicles gear and extra tires and other things to repair it if it's broken if you find a vehicle that's broken head for the nearest town to get some parts to repair it with if you find someone with a vehicle try to talk to him and get a ride or just be a sneaky bastard and take it when he gets out or you could also just shoot him :3

Bandits...

The guys u need to be afraid of they nomally have like some kind of old bandages around their face covering it up those are normally the players who mostly kills for gear or for their own fun if you see them take them out because they might find you and kill you i normally kill them on sight because i don't want another player/me end up dead instead of a dirty bandit plus he might have some good gear.

Freindly.

These guys are the good ones those you wanna help and team up with but don't trust someone before you get to know him some of the players who help regular players if they need blood and so on get a "Freindly Skin" they aren't like starter skins like your own skin and they normally have a old shirt with some squares on it painted diffrent colors those are they guys you wanna meet probably gonna help you surviving but remember if you wanna keep your gear take no chances leave him alone and get out of there..

Bugs...

Bugs is very annoying like trying to jump over a rock and poof legg broken then you need to travel to get the morphine for your legg these are the most commen bugs:

Crawling over small objects (can result in injuries Broken Bones, Bleeding, etc)

Logging out in water (this remove all your gear)

User spawns in the hills with no trees or grass (there may be some animals or birds fix try to press esc fast and hit respawn button can be done...)

Zombies can move through doors or walls (Very annoying nothing to be done about it..)

Zombies walk instead of running inside buildings. (This is a good thing then you can easily get away from them...)

Dropping items can cause them to disappear. (drop them into other loot piles might help to solve the problem)

Tents and Vehicles may be lost on server restart (because of database issues.)

if you have other issues search the internet for help not every got a fix though

This is for new players and not players who already know this but anyway if you like my guide give meh some beans ;3 and if theres something i might have done wrong fell free to comment some critic is always good.

Great guide. However, spelling errors abound and punctuation/grammar is non-existent and can make it a bit hard to read. :(

Also, spawning in the area "with hills and no trees or bushes"... this is Debug Land. Usually caused by logging off in an area that had a conflict with your spawn point after logging back in, i.e. if you went prone under a pine tree and logged off.

From what I've read (after spawning there myself and trying the trick Peter recommended and respawning with no gear of any kind), Debug Land is to the West/Northwest of the actual Chernarus area. If you find your bearing using the clouds, which move west to east, or using the stars, head Southeast and you should eventually hit an area that has trees... keep moving and it should get you back to roads/towns or at least get you to the shore which is most likely the southern shore. That will prevent you from losing your gear... unless you had none, in which case it's easier just to respawn/die and start over.

If in Debug Land, logging out and logging back in may cause you respawn in the south on Otmel island without any gear at all. You maintain the clothes you wore on your back, and the health, drink and food status you had before you logged off.
