SheetHawk 1 Posted November 21, 2012 Ok, so, I just got ArmA II: Combined Operations (http://www.top4games.com.br/arquivos_loja/24203/Fotos/thumbs3/produto_Foto1_5209439.jpg) and started playing that and DayZ. Now my friend is going to buy it to so we can play DayZ together. But the thing is, where he lives he can not find Combined Ops, only ArmA X Anniversary Edition (http://p.playserver1.com/ProductImages/8/8/4/0/6/8/1/2/21860488_700x700min_1.jpg). Now the question is, can he install DayZ on that version and still play with me on Combined Ops through Dayzcommander? Thanks in advance
Mr Nasty 1023 Posted November 21, 2012 That package includes the necessary games Arma2 and OA to play DayZ so my assumption is yes it would be playable.
nik21 287 Posted November 21, 2012 In order to play the DayZ mod, you need Arma 2: Combined Operation, which is made up of Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA.Arma X contains Arma 2 + Arma 2 OA + the 2 DLC's British Armed Forces & Private Military Company (and some more unimprotant stuff). So yes, he is able to play DayZ with Arma X, even with better model-Textures compared to the normal Combined Ops, because some player models of DayZ are from the PMC/ BAF DLC. In the normal Combined Ops, only the light version of those skins is included (for multiplayer compatibility etc.).
SheetHawk 1 Posted November 21, 2012 I know that you need ArmA II and Operation Arrowhead to play DayZ, I was just wondering if we can use these different versions and still play with each other, through Dayzcommander etc. I guess you can then, thanks guys!
