Legit settlement idea (plausible with what we have now).

(NOTE: I am mistaken there would need to be some kind of way to allow entrance into the secured perimeter that only humans can go through since i believe you can't vault over sandbags if you can vault over sandbags then this can work no problem)

For this to work the zombie spawning would have to change some how maybe the distance fix would work for this idea.

I have been thinking that having some kind of option on an item to transform the town into a settlement might be a bit unfitting. Then i remembered HEY this mod has barricades like wire and sandbags....

Now how this would work is you get sandbags and or wire fencing and place a perimeter and if you connect them zombies can not spawn within that perimeter or in the immediate vicinity(30-50 meters), in fact it would turn the loot spawns off completely (to avoid farming loot). I think that is the best/simplest way to form settlements for this mod.

For this to be possible and not take days (since sandbags and fencing is insanely rare) I think it would make sense to greatly increase the spawning of said items and also allow sandbags to spawn in residential areas. (homes, apartments) while the industrial buildings and military locations would always spawn at least one wire fencing in a hanger or comms tower) this would make sense since civilians would have used sandbags and military uses wire fencing.

Also it would take a group effort (settlements aren't built by one person, unless that one person spends days upon days scavenging for enough barricades....but by then someone would have noticed)

So while you have a safe haven you sacrifice the loot that spawns there also in the future new items could be added like a flagpole and flag that symbolizes that said town holds a settlement. Even adding the possibility of commerce and trade.

FUTURE POSSIBILITIES FOR SETTLEMENTS (from this point forward the suggestions would require new features and items)

-adding a town hall for each town/city the reason for a town hall would be to have a census and keys for the shops.

-new buildings (small shacks) or the ability to build (look at in depth section below) those would buildings would be locked and the only way to open them is with keys found in that towns hall.

(NOTE: loot can be stored in the shacks since they will be shops/banks

-this town hall would hold new items such as a census, and keys to the shacks

-the census would be like a town roster it would display the name of anyone who signs the census to other roster members....obviously you could only be a member of one settlement at a time.

Those are just a few ideas anyway what you guys think?

Something like this has been posted many times, and I am against this particular variant of the idea. I don't think players should have the ability to make a safe zone in the middle of a town, and I certainly don't want to see an increase in razor wire (which has been removed, BTW), sandbags, toolboxes and entrenching tools. I think a more feasible idea, which has been suggested already, is to allow players the ability to setup some sort of rudimentary encampment away from cities if they have the necessary equipment.
