hello I have recently purchased DayZ and i got a great character with a great load of weapons then I leave and rejoin to find it has given me all the default gear

it isn't just the server tried on a lot of servers it basically creates a new account and when I make that die it makes a new one and so on please help really annoying me

Make sure you are not playing on Private hives.

A Private hive will save your character on that server only. Going onto a Public hive or a different Private hive will mean you will have to start again.

Playing on a Public hive means your character will be available for any other Public hive, but not Private hives.

If you are using DayZCommander, there is a "Hide unofficial" checkbox. Checking this will hide all Private hives.

An easy fix is to favorite a server and stick with it.
